The most frequently mentioned are toxoplasmosis and listeriosis. These are infectious diseases that can have serious consequences for the expectant mother, but also for the developing baby. Toxoplasmosis during pregnancy can lead to malformations, neurological disorders, hydrocephalus or even intrauterine death.
